What if I need to rent?  This can arise if you’re a buying a new build and the developer wants to exchange some time before completion.  The new build price will be fixed but may be some time off.

Once you put your house on the market, a buyer may want to move in earlier than a distant move in date for your new build.  In this case, find out exactly and as early as possible what the developer requires to sell you the new house>  Factor in any cost of renting into the cost of your house move.

  • If you have already sold then renting makes you a potentially more attractive buyer.
  • if you have found a buyer for your home, renting allows more time in finding your perfect home.  Be aware that in fast moving market prices can move up quickly.
